“…The island’s allure left an indelible mark on my soul.”

-Thank you, Sophia, for accepting our invitation. To begin, could you share with us what inspired you to become a resort owner on this beautiful island? Was there a specific moment or aspect of Mykonos that ignited your passion for creating a unique haven for travelers?

-Thank you for having me! My journey into the realm of resort ownership on Mykonos is deeply rooted in my personal connection to this enchanting island. Growing up, I spent summers here, surrounded by the rich tapestry of Greek culture and the breathtaking beauty that Mykonos exudes. The island’s allure, with its white-washed buildings, azure waters, and vibrant energy, left an indelible mark on my soul.

The inspiration to become a resort owner struck me during one of those magical sunsets over the Aegean Sea. I envisioned creating a space that not only captured the essence of Mykonos but also offered a sanctuary for travelers seeking an authentic and luxurious experience. My goal has always been to share the beauty and warmth of Mykonos with the world, creating one of the best resorts in Mykonos and being an owner allows me to do just that.

“…we offer guests a genuine connection to Mykonian culture.”

-How has the local culture influenced the design and atmosphere of your resort?

-The local culture of Mykonos deeply influences our resort’s design. We’ve embraced the island’s architectural style, incorporating white-washed structures and open spaces. Authentic elements like local artworks and traditional craftsmanship enhance the atmosphere, offering guests a genuine connection to Mykonian culture.

– How do you ensure that guests have an authentic Mykonian experience during their stay?

– At our resort, and to be honest at most resorts in Mykonos of this level, authenticity is at the core of the guest experience. From the moment guests arrive, we curate a journey that encapsulates the true essence of Mykonos. Our staff, deeply rooted in the local culture, serve as ambassadors, offering insights into the island’s traditions and recommending hidden gems.

We organize cultural events, such as traditional Greek evenings and local art exhibitions, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit of Mykonos. The culinary experience is another avenue we use to showcase local flavors, ensuring that every meal tells a story of the island.

Moreover, we provide curated guides and experiences that encourage guests to explore beyond the resort, fostering a genuine connection with the community. It’s about creating memories that resonate with the authenticity and warmth of Mykonos.

– Are there any local dishes or specialties that guests must try while staying at your resort?

-Certainly! Our resort takes pride in offering guests a culinary journey that celebrates the flavors of Mykonos. From the moment guests wake up to the aroma of freshly baked pastries, they can indulge in traditional Greek breakfast delights.

Our culinary team crafts menus that feature Mykonian specialties, such as ‘Kopanisti,’ a savory cheese spread, and ‘Louza,’ a cured pork delicacy. Seafood enthusiasts can savor the catch of the day prepared with local herbs and olive oil.

To top it off, indulging in a Mykonian dessert, like ‘Amygdalota’ almond cookies or ‘Loukoumades’ honey-dipped doughnuts, is a must. We believe that dining is not just about sustenance but a sensorial experience that captures the essence of Mykonian cuisine.

“…at our resort sustainability is a priority.”

-Sophia, as a resort owner, are there any initiatives or practices you’ve implemented to minimize the environmental impact of your resort?

-At our resort, and fortunately other resorts in Mykonos focus on this direction, sustainability is a priority. We’ve integrated renewable energy, reduced waste, and embraced eco-friendly sourcing. Engaging guests in these efforts, we aim to collectively preserve the beauty of Mykonos for the long term.

-Can you share a memorable experience or story involving a guest that highlights the unique charm of Mykonos and your resort?

-Absolutely! One memorable experience that encapsulates the unique charm of Mykonos and our resort involves a couple celebrating their anniversary. On the final night of their stay, we arranged a private dinner on the terrace, overlooking the moonlit Aegean Sea.

As the couple enjoyed a sumptuous meal, a local musician serenaded them with traditional Greek tunes. The ambiance was magical, with the sea breeze carrying the sweet melodies. The couple later shared that it was not just a celebration of their anniversary but an immersion into the romance and beauty that Mykonos exudes.

It’s moments like these that reaffirm the enchantment of our island and the ability of our resort to create experiences that linger in the hearts of our guests.

-Sophia, before closing our conversation, can you share if there are any upcoming projects or developments that guests can look forward to in the coming years?

-We have some exciting plans, including a new spa for wellness, collaborations with local artists, and enhanced sustainability initiatives. These projects aim to elevate the guest experience while staying true to the authentic charm of Mykonos.

“…Looking forward to welcoming more guests to experience the magic in the years to come. Efharisto!”
